Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Meaning

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) is a psychological approach that involves analysing strategies used by successful individuals and applying them to reach a personal goal, whether focusing on a client’s negative thought pattern, body language or how to cope in everyday life.

It relates thoughts, language, and patterns of behaviour learned through experience to specific outcomes. “Neuro” refers to gathering information from the outside world using our five senses.

“Linguistic” refers to how we make sense of that information by organising it into the language structure. “Programming,” in this context, refers to the way we modify our neural pathways to achieve specific goals.

NLP is about perception, behaviour, and communication, often used for personal development and therapy.

Many mental health professionals advocate NLP coaching, and I am here to ensure your NLP experience is positive; as your NLP practitioner, I want to help you by using tried and tested NLP techniques.

Proven results across the board as a medical doctor and NLP Master Practitioner

As a medical doctor, I know from experience that there is no substitute for training at the highest level with the best coaches in the world. These coaches include Richard Bandler (co-creator of NLP), Paul McKenna, John La Valle, and Michael Neill.

I graduated as an NLP Master Practitioner and NLP Trainer after realising that NLP is a game changer in any situation.

I also trained to an advanced and intensive level with Richard. Love or hate him, he is a genius and taught me priceless things I would never have gotten anywhere else. Now I can share them with you. This video sheds more light on Richard’s legendary and enigmatic methods.

There is no limit to the power of the unconscious mind; it is the key to moving you to the next level in your life.

I deliver NLP life coaching in-person or online, which is the foundation of my work with clients. I integrate NLP seamlessly with all the other techniques I have found helpful over the years.

What Happens At An NLP Coach Session?

In a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) coaching session, the process begins with your coach working to understand the client’s current state, including feelings, behaviours, habits, and beliefs.

This might involve the client discussing their experiences, challenges, goals, and aspirations. The coach, trained in NLP techniques, will guide the client through exercises or interventions designed to identify and alter specific thought patterns.

The client will be encouraged to explore their perceptions, values, and beliefs and understand how these influence their behaviours. The coach might use a variety of NLP techniques such as reframing (changing the way a person perceives events or experiences), anchoring (associating specific emotional states with unique physical responses), or future pacing (visualising achieving goals in the future to create a positive expectation of success).

These sessions aim to help the client replace limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns with more positive, empowering ones. By the end of the session, the client should have a clearer understanding of their goals and a set of strategies for achieving them.

The coach often provides the client tasks or exercises to continue practising these new patterns between sessions. Working through these tasks during your day can make a huge difference in your life; successful people are open and willing to try this mental rehearsal in their own time.

It’s important to note that the specifics of an NLP coaching session can vary widely depending on the coach’s style and the client’s needs.

Will My NLP Practitioner Programme Suit You?

Whether or not a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner program suits you largely depends on your interests, goals, and the specific challenges you are facing.

An NLP practitioner program could be a perfect fit if you are sincerely interested in understanding human behaviour, thought patterns, and communication styles. NLP can provide a valuable toolkit for anyone in roles requiring strong interpersonal communication, such as sales, management, coaching, counselling, or teaching.

Additionally, the tools and techniques learned in an NLP practitioner program can be incredibly beneficial if you’re interested in personal development and self-improvement.

Furthermore, if you face specific personal or professional challenges, NLP may offer unique solutions. For example, if you’re struggling with self-confidence, decision-making, or goal-setting, NLP techniques can help identify and alter the limiting beliefs or negative thought patterns holding you back.

If you’re a professional coach or therapist, learning NLP can help you better assist your clients in overcoming similar challenges. You can see a personal change and a positive impact by eliminating bad habits using neuro-linguistic programming.

However, it’s essential to remember that NLP is not magic, and its effectiveness can vary from person to person. It requires an open mind, a willingness to change, and the motivation to practice and apply the techniques learned. NLP is a skill; like any skill, it takes time and effort to master.

An NLP practitioner program could be a great fit if you’re interested in understanding and influencing human behaviour and thought patterns and are willing to commit the time and effort to learn and practice.

The world-class process you will go through with me involves working on facial expressions; we can use NLP to focus your emotional state as well as your nervous system; my NLP coach training is universal; I have learnt from the top coaches, and you can learn from my past experiences and training today!

A History Of NLP Coaching

NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, was co-created by post-graduate computer programmer Richard Bandler and academic expert in linguistics John Grinder in the early 1970s.

Richard Bandler claims the name NLP came from an unfortunate incident with San Francisco traffic police. When the police stopped Bandler, they asked him to state his occupation.

Unusually, he was lost for words and saw three journals in his car. One was about linguistics, one was about neurology, and the third was about computer programming. So he identified his occupation as a neuro-linguistic programmer, and the title stuck.

Richard Bandler and John Grinder meticulously studied mental health therapists and graded them by their results with clients. A consistent finding was that the successful therapists’ language structure was unusual. Bandler and Grinder also noticed their body language was remarkably different and consistent.

My Background in NLP Therapy & Coach Training

I discovered NLP 13 years ago after reading a book by Paul McKenna. Within weeks, I was hooked and was attending a course run by Dr Richard Bandler and McKenna. Within 18 months, I qualified as a certified NLP trainer and established my elite performance coaching business.

I learnt so many things about NLP therapy that I could not have found anywhere else. I have attended multiple personal development courses, but NLP has undoubtedly been the most effective and practical training. NLP life coaching skills are universal and can be used effectively with all people in all areas of life.

I became a far more effective communicator and an even better listener. I learnt to tell the difference between what somebody was saying, what they meant, and what was left unsaid. I could fill the gaps and understand how their unconscious mind was processing their view of the world.

I learned the power of hypnosis and the importance of our unconscious mind. When we learn to connect more closely to it, we transform as if by magic. As an NLP life coach and a therapist, this was immensely valuable.

It cannot be a coincidence that so many politicians and corporate leaders have chosen NLP to polish their persuasion and influence skills and hope to become better people too!

NLP Coaching That Has Been Designed By The Best In Business

Virginia Satir and Fritz Perls were considered the best role models to explore in greater depth. How and why did they achieve such fantastic results? This was especially problematic because Satir and Perls certainly didn’t know the answer to this question. Both suggested that their heightened intuitive skills might be their critical success factor.

Bandler and Grinder also wanted to learn more about hypnosis and identified their role model, medical doctor Milton Erickson. They considered Erickson’s use of language and hypnotic elements his magic ingredient.

When hypnosis was combined with the methods used by Satir and Perls, Bandler and Grinder were convinced their findings would revolutionise mental health therapy. These same tools would be equally effective in boosting individual performance and resilience in all areas of life.

Hence NLP was born, and since then, many thousands of people from all walks of life and all corners of the world have been trained in NLP techniques.

NLP Training Courses

I provide a variety of NLP training courses to suit any pocket. As a certified NLP trainer, I will bring your coaching skills to the next level, which will be fun. Without a doubt, the best way to learn NLP is by working with a trainer.

These skills cannot be learnt solely from books. A range of representational systems is available in the NLP coach world, but working in a pair will provide a chance for like-minded people compared to those working on their own through books.
