DID YOU USE THE LAW OF ATTRACTION LAST WEEK? WELL I DID!
Do you remember my comments about the law of attraction in my blog last week? There has already been at least one astonishing result, so I will just refresh your memory with an extract. Then I will share the result with you.
“It does not matter whether you believe in the law of attraction or not. It does not matter whether you call it visualisation or self intention. The only thing that matters is that you use it.
Do not take my word for it. Two of the most successful books ever published are Think and Grow Rich, and The Secret. They have sold in many millions. Their overarching message is that thoughts become things.
Nor is the law of attraction complicated. I am going to give you a very simple tip and will be very surprised if you do not find it helpful. Think of something important that you would like to accomplish within the next month. Then imagine that you have hit your target. How good does that feel? What are the emotions that are rushing through your blood? When you have visualised this success in as much detail as possible it is time for the next step.
Prepare an email to yourself and in the subject line put in the date of your success, which will be a day within the next month. Any goals longer than a month away are too distant to really engage your emotions.
Now write a note to yourself from this future date describing how it feels now that you have accomplished your goals, and add as much detail as possible. Then press the send button. You can copy me if you wish. Now all you have to do is follow your daily processes, sit back, be patient and wait. Let me know how you get on.”
Sharing advice with other people and following it yourself are two completely different things! I always welcome reminders about this from my friends and clients on the occasions when I do not walk my talk. So the day after my last blog was published I thought it would be a good idea if I wrote an email to myself with an extremely ambitious objective. This is an extract of what I wrote to myself:
“Well the results of xxxx talk have been amazing. I took a chance by writing to him and have had an amazing response. This opportunity is better than I can have imagined and has taken all the xxxxxxx etc.”
I do not intend to name this person, though I doubt that he would mind. What I can tell you is that he is a household name in just about every country in the world, which is no mean feat!
I then composed a note to this person just saying how much I appreciated his work. There was no request for anything because I didn’t feel that I needed anything.
Once I sent the note I forgot about it. I have to say that even as a believer in the law of attraction I doubted I would get a response. So you can imagine my surprise when a reply pinged into my inbox just three minutes later. I almost fell off my chair. It just said,
“Stephen hi,……. Call me on ……… will explain why.”
Then followed a 20 minute telephone conversation. He asked me a lot of questions about my personal life and career. They were very direct questions and I answered them openly. He then proceeded to give me four suggestions that he felt would be extremely important to me.
I do not follow suggestions from others blindly even if they do come from wise and respected sources. However I knew intuitively that on this occasion they were absolutely on the money. I have not wasted any time and am already making progress on all these four issues. At some point I will share more details with you and the results, whatever they might be.
So the reason that I am sharing some of this information with you now is that it is a call to action. Experiment with the law of attraction yourself. It might sound fanciful to others to be writing emails to yourself but is at worst a harmless idiosyncrasy.
At best you may massively exceed your own expectations. I truly hope so. Let me know how you get on.
