How To Resonate For Inspiration

by | Nov 18, 2013 | Personal Development, Weekly Blog

Yesterday I visited the National Gallery in London. I had a wonderful time, and even better, it was free, but don’t spread the word…..

So what? Thousands of people visit the National Gallery every year. But not many go to see only one fairly drab unfinished painting. Even fewer hardly look at it, but just sit and close their eyes for about an hour. That is what I did, and this is the reason.

I’m working on an important paper, and I wanted to be sure it was as good as it could be. So I needed some help, and Señor Michelangelo was just the man. I happen to believe that when someone works on a painting, sculpture, book, or even just decorating their house they leave some of their energy behind, even after death. It was this energy I wanted to tune into, and I felt that I did. I felt that I could resonate with this energy, and be inspired.

Is that possible? I have no idea, and don’t really care. What I do know is that I felt inspired, and that is good enough for me.

People often say that something, it can be anything, resonates with them. Recently people have started to use the word chiming instead.

For the scientists amongst you Resonance is why opera singers can shatter a glass with their voice, why soldiers stop marching in time when they cross a wooden bridge, and why the International Space Station developed a scary wobble for 142 seconds. It is also why the best hypnotherapists ‘go there first’ with their clients. Resonance is the foundation of quantum theory.

This is the important bit, and could be fun. If you are wrestling with a problem or an important project why not visit a place associated with inspiration, and let some of it rub off on you too? I will be fascinated to know how you get on.

P.S After my meditation I re-read my paper, and was reassured that it was as good as I could make it, and needed no further editing.

Until I woke up this morning knowing I had left the most important part out! Thank you Señor Michelangelo!

Have an inspirational week, Steve
